13 Things I have learned so far in life...

Thirteen Things about Becca

  1. Physical age doesn't always make you mature, maturity comes from learning from experiences.
  2. Being a mom is a good thing. (Really!)
  3. Being rebellious is only fun for a season.
  4. Life is not as bad as you think it is--but you won't figure that out until you are looking back at your past.
  5. Show people you love them- they can't help but love you back!
  6. No matter how people criticize your work, someone will appreciate your best. (even if it's just mom and God)
  7. Taking advantage of people causes an overgrowth of guilt in your system that will eventually explode.
  8. Really think about big descisions in life. Hasty choices are usually bad ones. (Prayer here is very benificial too!)
  9. True friends will tell you the good and the bad.
  10. True love grows, it doesn't bash you on the head so you can't think.
  11. True marriage is truely loving your truest friend. (I'm so blessed)
  12. There is nothing like Grandma's fried chicken...(I'm getting close, though!)
  13. Most people do not like God and they'll not like you, because you like Him.

Jobs

Do you ever just wake up and want to sing?
I did this morning. It was very cold in myhouse, yet my heart was warm with praise! No, I can't tell you why...well, I suppose I don't know why...Maybe simply becasue my God died for me and no other reason.

In my Reflections book, (a journal of me for my kids) it asks me to tell about my first job. So, my first job was for H&R Block when I was maybe 10 years old. I might have been 11. Every Christmas, they would send out cards and the envelopes had to be addressed by hand. So, i got paid $3 per book of reciepts. The reciepts had the customer name and address on them. Must've been 100 in each book. And there was box after box of these things! It took me weeks to write them all and I would write until my hands were too sore to write anymore, give them a rest and write again! Maybe I just have a knack for writing? lol

My second job was as a newspaper carrier. I hated it in the winter, getting up early on Sunday mornings to deliver the paper! I had a really good route and got great tips at the holiday time. Then I worked at Burger King when I was 14. Could only take orders, couldn't touch the fryers because I was too young. Since the young pup job, I've been a machinist, an uphosteror, a manager at Hardees and Burger King, waitress, cook, made electrical switches for cars' airbags, telemarketer for Rainbow vacuum cleaners, receptionist for an accounting firm, and for Sysco...gee, I know there are more, but I can't think of them...

And to think, with all that experience doing all those different jobs, I would find that the best job I've ever had is right here at home...To all those femisist people out there--I wouldn't trade all the money in the world for the job I have here teaching my kids! (and I made great money as an upholsteror) I used to think, I had to work, that I just couldn't handle being home. I used to say I was the reason God made public school...now I know better. Maybe it's just growth. I don't know. But here I am, with my kids 24/7 and I actually like it--love it! Who would've thought??

Prayer Warriors

Someone on a different blog asked what other people thought a prayer warrior was. I don't even remember now where I saw it now...
So I thought about it and thought about. Let it stew a bit inside my head...

I suppose my opinions may be way off compared to others. It seems most people look at a prayer warrior as someone who is constantly in prayer and always ready to drop everything to pray for others. I have to disagree, because that is what we all should do anyway and if we aren't, maybe there is something wrong with our attitude. I mean, if my sister in Christ calls me and asks for my prayer, I will pray for her and if she makes a general request, I pray for it until I know it has been answered. We are commanded over and over in scripture to pray for the brethren. To pray without cease, pretty well, comes naturally to the Christian walking in the spirit, I think. I mean, if I am washing a dish and it won't come clean and I say to myself, "God, come on...can't you help me get this off?" While is a rather insignifigant prayer (and not very respectful...), it is a prayer none the less. Any time I talk to God I am praying...

I think a prayer warrior is the person who, for whatever reason, can't be in the real battle-on the streets witnessing. The person who has to stay with the baggage (like in 1 Samuel 25:13) is still part of the battle, but in a different way. It is a great responsibility to look after the King's articles and baggage. So, if my husband can go downtown witnessing, and I must stay home to finish school for the day, I pray for him to have a blessed time, that the Lord use him two-fold as if I were there with him. My children are precious in God's eyes- His baggage! A prayer warrior to me, is the ones left behind at home while the battle is fought. 1 Samuel 30:24 speaks of a man who didn't want to share what his men and David had one in battle with the men who stayed behind to protect the baggage and David says:
"For as his share is who goes down to the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the baggage; they shall share alike."
While I may not always be able to raise the sword of the Word in battle against people, I can always lift up God's active soldiers in prayer.

What Flower
Are You?

You have a sunny disposition and are normally one of the first to show up for
the party. You don't need too much attention from the host once you get
there as you are more than capable of making yourself seen and heard.

Thankfulness...

I thought in honor of Thanksgiving I would make a list of some things I am thankful for.

  • My salvation
  • My husband who tries very hard to be a good leader in our home
  • My kids
  • A house I can call my own
  • My friends who encourage edifiy and rebuke me with their words..
  • The measure of good health I have
  • Forgiveness- all facets
  • Tomorrows (mercies renewed every morning)
  • Clean water/hot water
  • Heat
  • Not knowing what hunger truly is...
  • Having a car to be able to run to the store for whatever I could possibly want
  • My internet to be able to find what I can't find at the store
  • My sister-accepting me as the religious wacko that I am *wink*
  • My other family- I am who I am because of them, be it good or bad...
  • Sleep (my sister-in-law couldn't sleep for months because of her chemo)
  • The soldiers who fight to keep my nation's principles
  • The freedoms I still have
  • 1 John 1:9
  • You! (and your comments *giggles*)

I suppose I could keep going on and on and on...I try to be thankful for even the little things in a more active way. I try to keep it in the forefront of my mind, so I don't forget how blessed I am every day of the year, not just Thanksgiving Day.

Acronym

I know this is goofy...but I found it on some other blog and thought, "why not?" so here it is...my name acronym!

What is kind of comical is that a friend of mine and myself always go back and forth when we see each other using different adjectives to say "you look nice today" and what pretty much started our tradition was her calling me radiant! (My rebuttal was that she was illustrious!) I think I need to look up amorous...

Ok, so here's the definition or at least one of them-- I didn't care for the other one. It needed to be censored--lol--it's MY blog, I can censor if I like, can't I?

Meaning:

Inclined toward or displaying love

Synonyms:

amative; amorous

Context example:

feeling amorous

Similar:

loving (feeling or showing love and affection)

(Awwww, shucks.....ME??--seems odd to be under "cranky"!) Anyway, I get a kick out of the silliness of the acronym and probably the accuracy makes me chuckle a bit too!

Gal. 6-9 005

Gal. 6-9 005, originally uploaded by try2basunbeam.

I think I'm getting better! This is after I messed it up. The original had the capital "L" as just a large pinkish letter. I tried to add some blue to the side and messed up so I ended up with the blue and pink cloud behind it. Craig said it looked really nice and her didn't even realize it wasn't meant to be there!

Worms, viruses...

So, t5he other day, i referred to me being a roach, so God sends me a worm or whatever they are called in computer land!!
I must say, in the world of computers, a person can get really frustrated!
I have a virus, so my Spysweeper says...then it says I don't...I have one, or I don't...Then it says it's quarantined so it's gone...but then again, maybe it's not. Maybe it's still running in the background just to frustrate me. And if it is, a person won't know unless they pay some guy $100s of dollars to tell them they do or don't and then a few more for him to take it off. Is it all even really worth the headache??

Regardless, if it is still on here, how in the world did I get it in the first place? I never open emails from strangers, only a couple times they kind of opened themselves, but I always thought to get a virus you had to actually open the attachments...Oh, yeah, sometimes, your email open attachments automatically..*thinking out loud* Well, whatever...Praise the Lord I have 2 computers...and I backed up my Quick-books program for the shop last week! (I hadn't done that for probably a year before then)

Okay, I'm ok...really...
On a completely different subject. I have this goal to not go online until AFTER I am done teaching school. Pray for me! Seriously! I love to read my emails first thing with a cup of freshly ground and freshly brewed coffee (with a touch of sugar and some International Delight French Vanilla Creamer *yum*) and then I get somehow caught up in the lure of the web...nothing sinful, people! I just go to eBay and read blogs and posts and more blogs and more posts...naughty naughty...I have more pressing responsibilities!

I hate myself sometimes and how easy it is for me to get caught up in myself. I get bored with teaching...I get this awful yucky attitude that I need to get rid of. I am really going to try hard to do it. I want to be the best teacher and best mom I can possibly be for my kids. I want my kids to grow up and say, "Mom really tried". No, I don't want them to say I was wonderful (cuz I'm not) I just want them to know I did my best. And it seems lately I haven't been. I have been very selfish with my time and I know that isn't what God would want me to do.

I've been nibbling at the book, A Woman After God's Own Heart. I can't think of the author off the top of my head, but I love this book! It seems chapter after chapter deals with ME! The author speaks of how she'd sit on the couch while the world went on around her. While she read, her children ran wild-so to speak. I don't exactly let my kids run wild but I just know I am not managing or as she said "watching" over my home as I should be...

I am bound and determined to improve. Maybe it'll be baby steps, but I can do it! Oh, and I am trusting my friends will be praying for me--as I know "the prayers of a righteous man (or woman) avail much!"
*wink*

RECALLED!

The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. Some other symptoms include:
1. Loss of direction

The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is:

1. Love
2. Joy

4. Patience
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness

9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Believers' Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility.

Thank you for your attention!
GOD

Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by "kneemail".
