In reading at Bible study I was reminded of a story I once read. I'm sure I will butcher the story, but I hope you all get the idea. (As I type this, I am thinking Sharon at Sit with me Awhile could write this so much better!)
There was a little girl who ate breakfast in her room every morning. She had a cupboard of lovely dishes, teapots, tea cups...Then she had one ugly wooden bowl. The wooden bowl was sad and wished he was as pretty as all the fancy teacups lined with gold rims and pretty paintings all over them. The teacups and pots got to be used on special special occasions. Oh, how he wished he could be like them. The wise old teapot encouraged the little bowl. She said to him, "yes, you may be ordinary, while we are fancy, but you are used EVERY day by the little girl. She cherishes you!
So, I was thinking, it is the same with us. We can be a fancy dancy Christian, that looks nice and talks nice, but how much better it is to be that ordinary wooden bowl, useful to the Master!
2 Tim. 2:20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. 21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

Nicely told girl...and at the right time by our Lord.
I have never felt like the fancy tea cup...but I have always wanted to be used by the Lord.
There have been so many times lately when I have felt like that wooden bowl or cup put away gathering dust.
The longer I have sat the more I have felt forgotten. And yet I know that there were promises made and in His time..He will do it.
It does not matter that the other "fancy teacups" are being used and fussed over. The time will come.
Daddy God in heaven is picking up that old wooden cup and dusting her off...and in His hands she will be filled with wine that will bring healing to the body.
It may not make sense but this was the verse for me this morning...."9For this was how the promise was stated: "At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son." Romans 9
Thank you for posting this....it was much needed.
Love ya girl
